LLOYDS BANKING GROUP
Native apps
Lloyds was an interesting role. Because Lloyds, Bank of Scotland, Halifax and MBNA share the same codebase, everything had to be replicated across four different brands, with four different banding teams to keep happy.
iOS & Android apps

My Role

I joined as a visual designer in the Redesign team within Digital Platform Enhancement (DPE). This scrum team is responsible for iterating and enhancing the iOS and Android apps for Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland, Halifax and MBNA. My role has been to co-ordinate with POs and the engineers to ensure quality was high across the multiple releases. I was also responsible for producing the monthly release ‘What’s New’ sceens to highlight the latest feature updates and enhancements. This involved taking the briefs from the various POs, designing the illustrations and liaising with the copywriters to take these screens to Brand for approval. I oversaw the delivery and QA on the route to live.

Lloyds, Halifax & Bank of Scotland 'What's New' screens

Three time the fun. Each screen needed to be approved by different Brand guardians. Copy for each screen also had to comply with the tone of voice for each brand. Then all needed approval from Legal & Compliance. Phew!

Halifax App Rebrand

Halifax was undergoing a complete rebrand. I was asked to work with the branding agency's WIP designs and reinterpret the existing apps UI. This was a good way to stress-test the the new branding to see how it would work digitally. I was feeding back my issues and concerns to the agency to help them refine the brand and to work effectively on mobile.
